When I first got on here, the title 'state minister' made me think it was a position that holds some kind of influence over bimbolands general ongoings, and that they formed a kind of parliament together with the PB. Sort of like how in Canada one part is formed by members of parliament elected by people in their district, and they have a fair bit of power, being responsible for introducing most legislation and voting on bills. I know obv a real life government is quite different from BL lol but the word minister implies some sort of power. Instead, their actual role would be more fittingly called a 'State Representative', considering they can't affect much and mostly are just... There and host contests sometimes.

It's also kind of weird that all of the state ministers actual communication between themselves or discussion/voting on stuff with the prime bimbo isn't actually done on bimboland? So like, again, if there was a real parliament or some kind of political system actually built into the site, with the state ministers all being able to put forth structured motions and cast votes and affect decisions, and with the public able to view what kind of motions were being discussed/voted on, I feel like that would just instantly give the state ministers more roles. Would also help with transparency and engaging people more in said BL politics, since obviously when you vote for someone, you want to see what they actually do about important matters after they win your vote, and not just what kinds of fashion contests they host. Even more so if I were a senator, since they directly support the PB and bimboland in general.

But ofc this depends on bimbolands goal (the goal of whoever pulls the strings). Corporations don't legally need to have transparency and democratic processes, but if bimboland is also trying to be a democratic website, those are two directly conflicting and opposite paths. But the sites financial income kind of depends on making people engaged and wanting to be senators, and transparency is always a good tactic to raise engagement. But even if the SMs and PB formed a parliament that wasn't all powerful, like they could vote on just for example, replacing a SM if one became inactive, I think it'd help to elevate SM past being just a honorary title and achievement.

Aaand cuz this wasn't long enough, I do also agree with state specific crazes or craze effects.

Just saw the last comment after refreshing the page so took out the bit about shopkeepers. But I think my parliament idea is completely new.

Issue of inactive SMs is solved, hopefully. At least inactive ones can't run anymore by default. But if someone was elected while being active and then goes inactive and nowhere to find it might come as handy to replace them.

It is interesting how the two of you from Atheista actually vouch and push in favor of the SM from another state, instead of your own SM. Don't you like your state? Or, have you joined the wrong state by an accident?

All I did was agree with Heartmarch's shopkeeper suggestion because I thought it might make things easier/less stressful on the current shopworkers. I wouldn't call that "vouching and pushing in favour of another SM".

Thanks for explanation, I appreciate it.

But is there some new ideas and suggestions for tasks for SMs that don't overlap with already existing roles and tasks? Something that make SMs roles unique? What can make SMs role different that FP, PB and shop workers?

Wait what did I say that was vouching for a different state minister??? I joined atheista cuz I'm a socialist atheist lol, not cuz of who else was in it. I initially agreed with the shopkeeper idea bcuz I thought the shopkeepers were unable to keep up with their workload and that's why it's taken a while for designers I know to get their items added, not cuz of the user that suggested it. Are we only allowed to agree with people from our state??

SMs would be unique if there was actually any government for them to be a minister of. Like my parliament idea in my previous detailed comment (if you scroll up you can read it). I feel this issue is a structural one. You can't really squeeze more roles out of this existing system, anything that can be taken care of is already being taken care of, and any really brand new ideas would require new additions to the system. Best you can do is move around and balance roles or duties between titles. Not trying to be a downer, it's just the limitations of working within a stale system. And who knows, I don't know how everything here operates so maybe there is something left to squeeze out. But just based on prev comments, it seems like this is a common feeling. Alexxxi even suggested an idea like mine, a legislative body, but again that requires an update to the system. Sandi Lut also suggested that SMs could have more abilities such as moderating their states town hall, but in this case, it's just shifting some work from FP to SM. And they have a lot more experience than myself, so... Just seems like trying to think of completely new roles without being able to change the system is a dead end.

That part you edited. Guess you know what.

None of these ideas are new tbh. SMs being able to moderate their town halls was suggested about 2 years ago (by me specifically) but since town halls were not alive enough there was no need for that. And things haven't really changed much since then.
Legislative body - as you said, already suggested.

I guess current SMs have more ideas, they'll come online soon so we might hear some.

I feel like there's some kind of language barrier or you aren't reading my entire comment.... I'd appreciate if you did, it's what I do.

I said this about my edit: "I initially agreed with the shopkeeper idea bcuz I thought the shopkeepers were unable to keep up with their workload and that's why it's taken a while for designers I know to get their items added, not cuz of the user that suggested it."

I edited my original comment because you said shopkeepers didn't need help so there's no point to say I agreed with heartmarch. I don't get why it's weird I agreed with someone not in my state. You agreed with Sandi's idea about inactive accounts, why aren't you in antitheocra, did you click the wrong state? Or you just agreed with someone's good suggestion because that's a normal thing to do. I can see past State borders... Guess I'm just progressive XD

I'll be interested to see what kind of ideas they have, hopefully they can see something we missed.

Also just in case people get suspicious, I havent downvoted any comment in this forum. Genuinely trying to discuss.

I don't see why we're stuck on this 'SMs handling shop workers tasks' thing since it's not doable. No admin would ever agree to give shopworker tools to state ministers who may or may not be re-elected after 4 months. Being a shopworker is a huge responsability and we had SMs who ran as a joke and won. Imagine the mess.

Not to mention that there are inactive states where only one player runs per election, so giving them too much power can be risky.

Agreeing with Auntie, as usual. We saw that first-hand this election cycle and, thus, it would be prudent to ensure that SMs don't have infinite power since this seems to happen regularly.
