Hi Ximbos!
It is with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation from being a Prime Bimbo. I’ll be officially resigning on April 1st, to make sure that PXFC goes along as planned and to make sure my contests have enough time to be wrapped up.
I’ve enjoyed many aspects of being a Prime Bimbo, along side campaigning for it and all my months as State Minister leading up to it. I remember when I first joined the site, I went straight to the achievements page as I’m a completionist when it comes to games. I remember seeing the PB achievement and thinking, damn… I’m never gonna get that. And then a year after, I found myself running for State Minister and thinking damn, I might actually be able to get that achievement!
Ximboland is a game I very quickly fell in love with because of the community. I’ve said it all in my manifesto - that community is what makes this game so great, it’s the people and the interactions we share. So I cannot and will not be the person in power, so called “leading” the site when we are of a time where putting people on a pedestal and criticising them for dressing the way they want, is a standard procedure.
I will not be the person that stands alongside when cyber bullying is running rampant on the site, more so than it ever has before. This is the direction the site owner wishes to take the site and so be it, but I don’t support this decision, and therefore I don’t think it’s fair for me to be Prime Bimbo, on him or myself or the rest of the site.
Furthermore, I do not like the idea of hard selling senatorships when I am of the personal opinion that the bonuses need improving, the bugs where people don’t receive their bonuses needs fixing, and the issue where people are being double and triple charged needs addressing asap. I will not promote a broken product.
Though I do not wish to go into detail of the PH private forums and the conversations I have had with Chris, I do know that he wants to announce some changes to the PB role to make sure that the next Prime Bimbo is adequately prepared for the role, as it is getting completely overhauled. I do feel obligated to help making sure the community understands this new role, as originally it was expected that I would be the first PB to do this, but after much reiterating that that wasn’t at all clear, we came to an agreement and a new PB contract has been made with a new set of rules that the next PB has to follow.
The role will turn into a marketing manager role, and you will be responsible for the senatorship growth of the site. All the other responsibilities, as far as I’m aware, are being removed. I have no idea what this means for PXFC, contests, crazes, fashion weeks etc. Moderation and reports are also being removed. I’m sure Chris will be going into detail with this soon and can give you more concrete answers than I will be able to give.
As for right now, SweetAsNuts will be taking over the PB role until next election. The crazes I have set up end on April 2nd, and I plan to complete my Easter Egg Smash before April 1st so I’ll be speed running the rest of the prizes, if you haven’t won one already I’d recommend getting involved in the thread to grab the last lot of prizes! I will also be chasing up any banners that still need doing, hopefully this frees up a lot of time for me to do that, don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten!
Thank you everyone who has made my time on Ximboland special. Though I feel like stepping down will make the cyber bully situation far worse, it is not worth sacrificing my own mental health over. Way back when I first ran for State Minister, I had a section on how cyber safety is really important and wanted to make a point of how I firmly stand against cyber bullying. It wouldn’t be right of me to stay Prime Bimbo whilst it is actively being allowed by the site owner. Obviously, he can do what he wants, he owns the place. I have always been of the opinion Ximboland is first and foremost a game and not a social media site, but this is the change we can expect in the future. I personally don’t believe that the site should have content creators and act as Twitter, with the same rule set as what Elon Musk favourites, alas, it’s going to happen.
It’s disappointing to see how far I came in the actual election in comparison to SweetAsNuts, knowing that my ideas were the ones the people wanted. Many people did not want people to be criticised and shamed for the fashion they chose to wear. Many people weren’t interested in politics, but were happy for a place to be created for it, as long as it remained respectful and mature and was avoidable for those who didn’t want to engage. At first, it appeared that my manifesto points were important and were listened to behind the scenes, though it quickly derailed and I received nothing but criticism regarding them. To be honest, at first I was mad about it, why make a democratic election process if you’re just going to override it and undermine me constantly? But now I’m just like, ah well, shit happens.
I have received a TREMENDOUS amount of kind words from users, many messages of support, I’ve created so many new friends, some of which I think I will stay in contact with for a long time. I’m incredibly grateful to have been SM and PB and have overall very much enjoyed the experience. I will stand by my morals till the very end, the community will always come first. I am not of the opinion that getting people to bicker and argue on the site is good because it increases site engagement. There’s plenty of other ways to increase it, *cough* update mobile *cough*, State Wars is a prime example of the kind of thing the community enjoys.
I will be cancelling my senatorship today and taking a break from the site after April 1st. I’m afraid I cannot monetarily support something I don’t agree with. You may see me in the rep thread I’m sure, and I’ll still be around to enjoy contests and answers messages. I will be getting my money up to the 1st of April and then should be being removed from the role to avoid confusion.
Thank you again everyone, so many of you have been so kind and sweet. No amount of alts and trolls will change the authentic support I receive. I also thank my staff for helping me along this journey and supporting me, as well as the bestest bunch of SMs, what a squad we have made, I love you all dearly.
