♥ Hey, citizens of Antitheocra! I hope you’re all having a good day! ♥
My name is V or Polly (either is fine) and I’ll be running for State Minister this election!
I joined Ximboland this summer and have been around for about half a year now, and from moment one I have been absolutely amazed by the incredible user base and community present on this site, especially in Antitheocra! Our current SM, Melpomene, has hosted so many creative and wonderful contests and activities, and the community and state pride built by our users, SM, and generals during State Wars was unmatched! I really, really love this state and, if elected, would love to contribute more to this amazingly artistic, unique, and inspiring community. We are small but mighty!!
If you just want to read the short version of my SM goals and objectives, skip to the end!
Here’s a little about me (facts may vary in relevance):
★ I’m 25 years old, married, and based in the US (PST time zone), with three cats and two small dogs!
★ I use primarily they/them pronouns, but any are fine <3
★ I’m an artist, writer, and community organizer based in the US, currently working in the realm of health justice and public health!
★ I’m an Enneagram 4w5, Aries Sun, Virgo Rising, and Sagittarius Moon, and my MBTI is INFJ, if those matter to anyone ;) If you’re curious about Enneagram, I would love to talk to you about it — it’s one of my big passions!
★ I am allergic to pineapple, rose (the flavor), Tajin (the spice), and something in Pop Tarts name brand but not generic (?????)
★ I collect vintage Polly Pocket compacts (hence the username)
★ In relation to our state sport, I love roller skating but sadly have never played roller derby due to my high capacity to bruise at even the slightest bump (I am an enormous clutz)
★ My interests include drawing, crafts of all kinds, writing and playing TTRPGs, poetry, psychological horror, fancy coffee, baking, and visiting new places with my spouse. Oh, and Ximboland! I’m here literally all the time and I have a ton of love for this site and its users.
My qualifications:
★ I have previously been a mod for a Discord server of ~100 people
★ I’m a current IRL community organizer and have previously worked in data analysis and as an office manager, so I’m a very organized person with a history of project-planning and managing large groups. Also, I recently completed my Master’s degree, which is relevant because it shows my capacity to handle stress and large workloads, because grad school is basically the Dark Souls of real life :’)
★ Since joining, I have been very active in all of Antitheocra’s contests, the XL Discord, and in the forums more widely!
★ I am currently organizing a Secret Santa Art Exchange for visual artists on Ximboland! If you like to draw (regardless of skill level), I highly encourage you to join us! The form to participate closes November 25th, so make sure to fill it out before then.
★ I love to draw and have several submitted and in-process designs for the shop!
★ I am always striving to be an empathetic, supportive, friendly, and socially-aware presence both on Ximboland and in my life offline!
Goals (the long version):
★ Continuing the tradition of monthly fashion contests for users from Antitheocra, with banners for all contest winners!
★ Hosting at least one non-outfit-related contest or challenge open to all states each month! I’m especially excited about challenges with an inclusive, creative, accessible flair like Blecky89’s December Photography Challenge from last year.
★ Awarding prizes to active users registered on the Birthday Board on their birthdays
★ Creating space and community for the creative work of users inside and outside Antitheocra, including special exchanges and challenges open to all forms of creatives (writing, visual art, graphic design, photography, etc)!
★ Watching out for bullying, harassment, and toxicity on the site and in the forums at large, but especially in Antitheocra! This state (and this site!) should be a safe and inclusive place for all.
★ Being a safe space for state users (and any users, really) who need support and are having a difficult time on the site or in their lives in general. The internet and the world can be an upsetting place, and I really want to have an open-door policy in DMs for anyone in need of a helping hand!
★ Related to the above note, it would be really fun to have some kind of thread for posting short, easy, accessible, and free or cheap self-care and wellness tips every few days or at least every week (for me, at least, though other people would be welcome and encouraged to suggest their own ideas)
★ Creating a forum thread where Antitheocrans can share their life achievements and where we can all publicly celebrate each other! Got a new promotion, graduated from university, got an A in a class, celebrated an anniversary with a partner, won an award, or something else? Let’s talk about it!!
★ Highlighting a Ximbo from Antitheocra each week who has been active, helpful, and/or friendly in the community recently and providing a banner and prize (TBD) for this! Life happens, obviously, and so if this ever slips past me on a week-to-week basis I will make sure to fill in these gaps at the end of the month! I would really like active Antitheocrans or all levels to feel special and included, and hope this would incentivize users from this amazing state to join in and support each other.
★ Bit of a stretch goal, but I am an artist (and many of you are as well!) and I’d love to, time permitting, doodle state members every so often, perhaps in conjunction with Ximbo-of-the-Week style highlights. I can’t guarantee this all the time, but it’s something I’d like to do when I can!
★ Putting out a survey every month or two to poll for potential ways I can improve as SM and where state members can contribute ideas for potential contests
★ Continuing any work the current SM (Melpomene) is working on!
★ Working with the rest of the Pink House to make Ximboland a safe, fun, inclusive, and supportive community for everyone!
TLDR Goals (the short version):
★ Continue to host Antitheocra-only fashion contests each month
★ Host non-fashion creative contests and challenges open to all states, ideally monthly as well
★ Awarding prizes to active Antitheocrans registered on the Birthday Board on their birthdays
★ Zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, and bigotry
★ Creating and leading forum threads for community support and wellness
★ Providing private support to Antitheocrans (and other site users) who are struggling
★ Highlighting active, helpful, friendly Antitheocrans from the state each week, with a TBD prize
★ Posting surveys at the end of the month to poll for ways in which I can improve as SM
★ Continuing the work of the current SM (Melpomene)
★ Work with the rest of the Pink House and staff to improve and support this site and its user base
