Okay time for a scary ghost story, when I was little like 4-5 so 2006ish, I live in an apartment complex in Ohio, with my mom older sibling and newborn brother, in the apartment we lived in like 3 years before we moved in a man brutally murdered is girlfriend in our bathroom, dismembered her and threw her head in a pond that was at the apartment ( you can Google this that's why I'm including my state) that was the scariest place I have ever lived, things would fly off our shelfs, tvs, radio, lights, fans, everything would turn on without being touched, doors would slam closed on their own, me and my sibling shared a room and we would both wake up to our closet doors being open, we would hear scratching coming from under our bed, and while living their I had horrible night terrors to the point my mom put me in counseling. it was scary and ever since then scary shit happens to all of us constantly, I don't know if it was the girl who got murdered, or just some other angry spirit but it was scary. And on a scary buy less paranormal note our bathroom, the walls rub and floor had to get repainted like every three months because the blood staining kept seeping through, horrifying

This is a story I don't tell a lot of people because it makes me sound crazy. I was young, maybe 13, when I was staying at my grandma's house overnight. I was sleeping in a room with my mum and baby sister who was sleeping in her cot and I remember that my sister kept us awake with her crying until around 2 am. After she finally fell asleep, mum and I finally passed out from exhaustion.
Then, after what felt like only an hour of sleep I woke up suddenly in the middle of the night, laying for a while with my eyes closed in hopes that I would fall back to sleep. I couldn't settle the weird turning of my stomach though and slowly opened my eyes before getting up to go to the bathroom.
It was so dark in the room that it wasn't until I was already making my way to the door that I noticed the woman standing over my sister's cot.
She was so tall that her hunched back hit the ceiling as she hunched over the cot. Her skin, which stretched across her bones in a way that looked painful, appeared grey in the darkness. Her hair was thinning, grey and almost long enough to cover her naked sagging chest.
I didn't move when I saw her, I held my breath as I began to pray that it was all a dream. I stare at her for only a couple of seconds before she turned her head to look at me. She was silent but her face looked like she was laughing, her body was shaking and heaving. Nothing I have ever seen has been more terrifying than witnessing that, it was so inhumane and unnatural, it's going to be an image burnt into my brain till the day I die.
She stared me down, not once looking away or stopping her laughing as she began to reach into my sister's cot as I stood beside the bed completely motionless.
I'm honestly surprised I didn't cry or scream or even pee myself, I was just so terrified that I stood completely still and watched as she stole my sister. I just remember wanting to move, wanting to jump forward and wrestle my sister out of the woman's elongated limbs but felt like a statue.
Up until this moment my sister had been asleep, but as the woman held her she began to scream, not normal baby crying but actual screams of terror.
The rest is a blur for me, all I remember is that the woman set her down and suddenly my mum was awake and the terrifying, boney demon lady had disappeared. My mum never mentioned seeing anything, and my sister was way too young to talk at the time, so I'm the only person who remembers seeing the woman, It has always made me feel a little crazy.

Years later, when I was roughly 16 or 17 my friend and I thought it would be a good idea to mess with an ouija board. It wasn't. We began by pranking each other, moving the glass piece ourselves to scare the other but, by the end of the night, I was sobbing as my friend packed up the board before we took it to the mountains and left it there. Long story short, it wasn't funny anymore after the board spelt out my sister's name, date of birth and the words "coming back" when we were asking unrelated questions.

I have no explanation as to why this happened, or if I really saw that woman trying to steal my sister but I do know that I am never touching an ouija board
ever again. I live in Ireland, so if this is some sort of weird folklore creature then please let me know, this event has always haunted me and I've had no explanation all these years. If you read all of this thank u :)

TL;DR
Saw a scary demon lady who tried to steal my baby sister, years later an ouija board spells out my sister's name, D.O.B and the words "coming back". I was left very traumatised.

This is unbelievable! A lot of stories during a couple of hours and all of them are incredibly good, and ngl quite spooky.

Thanks everyone for sharing, especially if it was real personal experience, or at least as real as it could be since it's hard to draw the line. Sharing them could be healing, even if mystery rest unsolved. I know it is not easy to share personal experiences with everyone, not even family members or closest friends. Quite often it is much easier to share it with total strangers on the web who has had similar experiences.

I might share some of mine but later since the first part of this thread is meant to be a contest-like. But sure thing, this thread can stay open for such topics after contest time is over.

I am so excited to read more :)

Alright so I have a few stories.

This first on isn’t really a story as much as it is an interesting fact but it’s still fun. I live in the oldest European settled city in the United States so naturally there are a bunch of ghost stories and ghost tourism surrounding my city, some more legitimate than others but still fun and there are also a lot of old cemeteries which are interesting.

The second one is a personal experience. I have on multiple occasions witnessed the door to my parents’ bedroom open on its own beyond what could just be explained away as wind or something.

The third one is an urban legend that I’m pretty sure is fairly common but I still like.
“On a stormy night, a girl was getting ready for bed. She was scared of the dark, so her dog would always sleep under her bed, and whenever she got scared she would reach her hand down and her dog would lick it to comfort her. She goes to bed and whenever she got scared she would reach her hand down and her dog would lick it as usual. Eventually she had to get up to go to the bathroom. When she went into the bathroom she found it covered in her dog’s blood, her dog brutally murdered and hanging from the towel rack, and on the mirror there was the phrase ‘Humans can lick too’ written in her dog’s blood”.

Lastly I have a pretty messed up fact about the original Friday the 13th movie. In the scene where they kill a snake, they actually killed an actual snake in that scene. But that’s not all, the snake was a pet and show snake of I think one of the director’s or someone’s friend, and they killed it without telling him what they were going to do with the snake. :(

In my town, there's this ghost story that this rusty squeaky old hospital gurney that would keep showing up on the same floor where everyone kept dying, they even rebuilt the hospital because it burned down and STILL, on the same floor, same gurney, they could not get rid of it no matter what they tried. throwing it away, taking it far, nothing.

can’t make this shit up. early this morning (around 12 am) i was taking my dog out with my roommate and came across two deer standing directly in the middle of the street staring at us. they weren’t moving, or reacting to us at all - just watching both of us as we walked over. i have NEVER seen deer around this place before, because i live in a pretty crowded apartment complex in an urban area. i immediately turned around and went back home because i was NOT about to wait for them to stand upright or something lol. apparently my roommate who saw them first looked in their eyes and proceeded to have some of the worst nightmares ever that they told me about today. friday the 13th is no joke y’all
