Hello citizens of Secville,

Welcome to The Flutter, Issue 2. This week we'll be talking all things religion since it's Easter and I also encourage other states to get involved in the discussion if they wish!

Religion pretty much permeates every facet of my life and has an undeniable hold over many countries in the world. Personally, I think some aspects of religion are a good thing and promote healthy sexual behaviours and self-preservation. On the other side, some could argue that many religious policies incite violence and intolerance depending on the way they are construed by the reader. In my experience both are true, despite claims otherwise, and I am interested to know what your opinions are. Even still, religion is somewhat of a guiding light for people when they lack purpose and oftentimes gives them the motivation needed to continue forwards in life when faced with challenging situations; in that respect religion is remarkable and highly valuable.

Generally does Religion mean: "direction"
it includes the choice going up and sinking down
Messias means end of religion, end of clerical patriarchs,
clerical abuse of sexuality, or power.to send us to war

I can see why so many people are religious, but I'm not a fan. Religions tend to have extremely outdated world views which makes it obvious who came up with them, who they are supposed to benefit and what kind of agenda they are supposed to promote. That being said, even if they didn't promote the moral values that I completely disagree with I still wouldn't be religious.

ooh, since other states can join -
growing up in a majorly catholic country and family really did a number on me growing up - i never agreed with the idea that your relationship with g-d should be to fear him and never question him, as his plan is always right. i wanted to believe in someone and study a holy book without the feeling that i'll go straight to hell if i even do one step "wrong" (like fuckin believing in evolution or kissing a girl lol) so when i started studying about judaism and started my conversion process it felt relieving.. as i finally felt i can have a relationship with g-d where it feels almost familiar - its encouraged to question him if you need to and theres not really the concept of guilt, which is again something that really affected growing up catholic. also judaism just has a more accepting/accommodating community (probably since everyone hates us we only have each other? probably. but thats another story)

however i do find nuns really hot. happy passover

even if, hypothetically speaking, religion didnt promote the messed up close minded views that it did. i still do not agree with a system that supposedly punishes people for not eternally worshipping their creator and dedicating their whole life to him. a god that narcissistic is not moral

well i've been born and raised in post soviet surroundings so maybe not relatable -
i genuinely love religious people in my country, for some messed up reason they seem much wiser then the rest of us. maybe that's cause they're more educated on an average or cause religion used to be forbidden in my country for quite a long time and their faith was an act of rebellion and a concious choice for which they could easily be punished (priests especially)
i've talked to a lot of my peers and those of us who have nice backgrounds regret the fact that they simply ? can't believe ? it's too many discrepancies
im not the biggest fan of routine rituals that religion proposes but when i look at some of our local priests there's something indescribable and alluring about them idk sounds weird
