i found mathematical paper on this so here is what i've learned. if i made any mistakes feel free to scream at me for leading poor bimbos astray in their educations. i am not a math expert.
so, even you play perfectly (ie, have a perfect memory and methodically flip tiles), you'd still take an average of 58 moves to win.
I say average because even then, it depends on the set up of the board before you begin playing. Depending on your luck, you'll actually take between 36 and 70 moves to win.

most matches take 3 or 4 moves.
3 moves: you flip A and B (no match), then flip another A and match.
4 moves: you flip A and B (no match), flip C and A (no match), and then finally match the two As.
sometimes, you'll match in just 2 moves if you're lucky & match two tiles without knowing either tile beforehand.
The number of lucky matches like this per game is just about 0.7.
basically, you need to play like..... a LOT of optimal games to get lucky enough to get less than 50 moves.
