Doctors are now saying that menstrual cramps can be as painful as having a heart attack. No shit. Doctors are only just figuring this out. I mean its not like people have been having periods for millions of years or whatever, what would they know!

I once had period pain so bad I threw up about 3 times, the doctor just brushed it off - gave me some ibuprofen and sent me on my way. Honestly I'm so lucky I'm on birth control now so I don't get my period anymore.

Got any Period/Doctor horror stories?

yes my sisters have them so severe! My older sister before birth control vomited for 3 days straight and she was bedridden. My younger sister's limbs hurt her very badly and for myself my back and stomach aches that i cant even walk straight. I have to be getting ice bags and stay laying for most of the day

I have this problem too, for few years. The doctor gave me Ketonal and Aulin , strong painkillers otherwise in my country .

In high school I missed so many days, 1-2 each month due to my period. Now they aren't so bad because I'm on birth control.

I remember the days when my breasts hurt so bad that I wanted to take the knife and just cut them off. They used to hurt for 7 days non-stop before the menstruation. But the real torture began when the doсtor advised me the birth control (I complained about another things... but okay, I trusted her then). They hurt ALL THE THREE. FREAKING. MONTHS when I was taking the pills.
After cancelling the pills I got to know what menstrual cramps are. My mom says that's because I don't have sex, lol. (By the way, I guess my breasts don't hurt anymore because of that.)
I just envy the men...

Just a word to the wise, taking the pill or POSTPONING menstrual periods solely to avoid cramps and the other pleasantries associated with it isn't the best idea. They are meant to prevent pregnancies. For every month you postpone it, you are throwing it on the other end of the spectrum. Who wants to be 60 and ragging?

I used to have to take codeine my cramps were so bad. It angers me so much when people (mainly men) get annoyed for you not being able to do things because the pain is too intense. I know it varies from person to person but it really can be excruciating

Omw! Thank goodness we are all in it together, no one understands a woman's trials more than ourselves. I sometime wonder how men would handle period pain nevermind giving birth. I have seen a YouTube video where they strap something around mens bellies to mimic the contraction feeling. It was the funnies thing I have ever seen! So I wonder if they would have to do something similar like that, what would men do? I was never regular when I was in my teens and I also use to black out sometimes when I eventually were on. Sometimes the pain by my hips would be unbearable and it felt like everything just wanted to pop out and run away! Lol! At around 20 I finally went to a gynecologist and he got me onto a pill and putting on a lil bit if weight also helped. Since then I'm regular, it's not as painful as it use to be and the flow is much lighter. I realise every person is different and u need to find what works for u. Xoxo

thst is not at all how menstration works, periods do not get added on to the end or postpone menopause due to birth control
