I did not insult ALL the players of this game; I was merely pointing out your lack of political experience and/or credibility to start ANY debate. I am not a socialist, but right now, the best presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, is one, and you know what? I don't care what political party he's from as long as he follows through. I read the above posts,^ and had to just laugh. Not even worth a reply. There is a big difference in 'Baiting', and debating. I'll debate an issue, not play into your Ego.

Whores in government, are politicians that accept money for campaigns to be elected, from special interest groups and corporations, to write laws that go against the popular will of the majority. That was about the only question I could reply too, because that was the only debate point you raised that had any merit, what so ever.

Anything else I could say about your post speaks for itself. Hate and personal attacks are very clear, and have no place in a civilized world. Anyone who is rational can read this whole thread and see that I never called you a racist or a socialist.

This should be such a comfort, to every player who uses English as a second language. What would the game do without the 'Comm'a police looking out for all of us. Heavenleighbimbo, i'm new to the site and don't know much about this whole attacking-other-players-needlessly dynamic you seem to have going on here, but your writing style comes off as immature, defensive, and digressive. That being said, I admire your passion and initiative in trying to start more politically charged discussions. I say this as constructively as possible- perhaps these discussions would be more productive if you turned down the ranting and attacking nature of your posts.

On the topic of legalized same sex marriage being federal law, I agree with the prediction that there is the possibility of overturnment and consistent challenges, as well as a definitive increased rate of violence and hate crime against members of the LGBTQ community. With these kinds of huge liberal leaps, there is always a conservative backlash. I was in D.C when the Supreme Court announced the ruling, for an unrelated international Ambassadors Program, and I recall the amount of reactionaries who paraded around the city crying out calls of hate, and the intense signs that were waved and scattered around. Eventually, the number of happy people overwhelmed the haters, but certainly this is not the happy ending by far for this community.

Thank you Sol. Your comment is constructive criticism. There is a very big difference, that you understand because you wrote your comment without a baseless observation about my style of writing. Your right, in many ways about my previous posts. Unfortunately, you did see me go on the defense of free speech. Yours, mine and even hers. Yet in this modern era of 'tweets' , it is less about substance of a debate and the focus becomes on the person who dares to say something unpopular.

Locally, someone dared to start a political cause in a 'tweet' declaring that putting shoes on horses is animal cruelty. Writing about how nails are driven into the feet of horses. Who would say something like that in a community that relies on the use of horses, and the owners are doing what is best for those animals?
Do you think it was a cowboy who was raised with horses all their lives. Ranchers, who spend thousands of dollars per year to care and love them like family members?
Not likely.
Wild horses without shoes often die very early deaths due to infections caused by rocks, and cuts to their feet. So do you see how someone can make a cause, sound great to people who don't know the facts, but only seek to stir up trouble where none exists. A 'tweet' doesn't have to be based in fact before every animal rights activist will attack a person who replies to such disinformation, with an emotional attack on anyone who tries to share sound information rooted in FACTS, not the emotional writing of a sensational TAG-line. All one has to do is read some of the comments sections on political You-tube videos, to see how people can react, when they hide behind a computer screen. The ignorance and personal attacks on fellow posters, have become nearly an art-form unto itself.

I just ask people to think before they make snap judgements, to silence someone with more information than they might have when talking about subjects that they haven't experienced first hand themselves. To many people just follow the herd, and speak only about what they heard from someone else.

I feel reluctant to chime in here, but given the stated purpose for this thread having been started, I will:
I feel like it might be useful, if Bimboland is supposed to be political and issues will be analyzed with "critical thinking" and discussed, hopefully in civil fashion, to clarify what is and what is not a valid argument. Based on the above, let's start with what is not a valid argument
Name calling is not a valid argument. Appeal to authority(you don't know enough, or your not qualified...) is a logical fallacy and, therefore not a valid argument. Ad hominem (attack the man,)that is to say attacking the person instead of the argument is a logical fallacy and not a valid argument., False equivalency is a logical fallacy, and it is not a valid argument either
A valid argument is a set of premises, and a conclusion that follows logically. Any premise or support information that is not necessary to reach the conclusion (and this seems particularly important here) is irrelevant to the argument and need not be included
So, for example: A gay marriage is between two people only, so it doesn't effect anyone else. Those two people won't be happy unless they are allowed to get married to each other. All Americans have the right to pursue happiness, therefore gay couples should be allowed to get married.

Ashley, Thank you for that very wise post about political debate.
You reminded me of a conversation I had with a co-worker a few day's ago. He is a 25 year old man and married. Also extremely liberal, to the point of being a pure socialist. We began discussing the gay marriage issue, because he told me that he was against it solely on religious grounds. I was totally shocked by his reply to me. I'm also in the same religion as him, and while there is a moral value in the teaching's that it is not wise to have sex before marriage, I chose to debate him on the ground's of; two people being in Love and faithful to each other is exactly what God want's us all to eventually find during our lifetime's.
Nobody in the Bible say's hate your neighbors ability to love someone else.
When I said that to him he flat out told me that I'm totally stupid for being a Conservative American.(?)
( I thought that was an odd thing to say to a bi-sexual woman with my point of views and the fact our shared religion is generally considered extremely Conservative by the general population... )
He had no debate point's just an insult to me personally for asking him a challenging question.

The odd thing about it, is he supports a political party that has a position of America becoming a total welfare nation,
Abortion's are a woman God given right.
Illegal immigration is the only way for the worlds poor to do better for themselves. No mention of how America will afford to feed the entire world.
He actually told me that it is America's duty to allow everyone to enter America because we are all immigrants except HIM. He is 1/4th native American, and has said how much he despises rich people like me, because I STOLE his land. Excuse me, I paid for it and he never owned it in the first place.

This is how confused people have become. His very own political beliefs run opposite of his chosen religion in 90 % of the time, except his total hatred of homosexual marriage. I pointed this out to him . I reminded him to love the sinner as Jesus did.
He walked off, pouting........... His hate speech concerning homosexual people, is also against church teaching. Nobody is kicked out of church for being gay.
I didn't feel very stupid at that moment when I told him I'm Bisexual and have a girlfriend. Men like him are the reason I never want to get emotionally involved with a man ever again. People's heart's have become very intolerant of other people despite the protest's to the contrary.
Liberals constantly scream that the religious people in the world are intolerant of alternative life style's and other religion's,
The most hateful word's then spew from their mouths, about anyone who dare's to challenge them with a simple debate point.

He proved to me that he is 100% convinced that the world would be better off if everyone was Just Like HIM. With this sort of attitude I don't think he even heard a single word I said to him. Debate has become a one way Highway for Liberal's. "My way or No way for anyone else."
That was the best way to sum up that silly debate session I had while at work with a 25 year old man-child.

I have more stories about him, but the next one should be put in the Rising Stupidity thread. How about an environmentalist who thinks dumping 350 truck load's of trash in nature, to protest the building of an oil pipeline is a good thing to do?
The reason, The pipeline will pollute the water they drink. [of course the trash they left behind them during the protest was much more serious than a sealed pipe. No critical 'thinking' what so ever went into that environment Protest !!!!!!! More riot's to come.
