Get your creative juices flowing Bimbos, this one might be tricky. My idea is this: Each month I will go on a random picture generator site (this month it was Photo.net. Feel free to recommend other site like this) and take the first picture I find there, meaning it could be literally anything (as long as it's not graphic etc) and post it on this thread. Our task then, as intelligent, innovative and imaginative Bimbos, is to write a short story based on the picture. All interpretations are accepted, there shall be no theme or guideline other than the picture itself. The only set rules are:

You can post just ONE story per monthYour story must be between 250-500 words long (give or take a word or 10)At the end of the month there shall be a poll (in a separate thread I'll make later) where you and other bimbos can vote for the story you like most. The winner shall be announced the day after (hopefully).
I don't know if anyone will be interested in doing this but I thought I'd give it a shot. Writing fiction can be such a fulfilling activity and you can get so lost in your own little world; it's a wonderful sensation. I think it's something we should do more often, but it really is up to you if you want to compete or not. Anyway I digress... The picture to write for is shown below. She ran, she could feel the ashen ground beneath her feet. Everything was dying, everything. The land, the people, the animals. There had to be a way, a glimmer of hope somewhere. So she ran, and she ran. She did not know if they were still in pursuit or not, she hadn't seen the chasers in a long while. Though they had likely assumed she would die out here, she had to assume they were still coming. She ran faster.

Suddenly, she smelled something and stopped. What was that? A smell she hadn't smelled in quite a while. Was that dirt? Not just any dirt, but soil, livable damn soil as if after a rain almost. Her heart fluttered and she pushed through her exhaustion and made herself push further up a hill in front of her. The hill was only large enough to block her view of what lay beyond it but still she fell and pulled her way up - her body begged her to stop.

As she reached the top of the hill she looked down, and before her was a meadow. There was grass and in the middle a tree. The tree looked as if it may be dying too but it was not dead yet and the grass was still green. She ran again straight to the tree where she sat against it. Her hands ran through the grass over and over again until before appeared a small faerie.

"We've been waiting" it said in a high pitched voice "You've made it, the others should be here soon. We will survive this and thrive again."

She pulled into work that morning wondering when it's all going to end. She's been waiting for months to leave that rotten place and all she could think about was the plane ticket - the damn plane ticket she could only use in 2 months. She crawled up the two flights of stairs into her office and turned on her laptop .The project manager e-mailed again. She draws up a hasty reply, sends it and gets up to make some tea. Her phone chimes, she smiles knowing it's him. He's thinking about her, as always, the second he gets to work. Their love story took years to flourish; she worshiped him for years but had been afraid to say something, she did not want to start a drama, because of the distance, not because she didn't have the fight in her. When she told him, casually, that she had married, she sensed something in him but wasn't sure what as he congratulated her, half whispered. Now, divorcing, she wrote to him in a desperate attempt to find a shoulder to cry on. Barely in her mid twenties and divorcing! what a failure! She told him and he sighed and smiled, asked if she's ok - she wasn't. Heavily addicted to strong doses of Xanax and hiding the self inflicted cuts on her thighs underneath her fancy office skirts. But it was their time now and as the divorce was finalizing, a new beginning was taking shape on her horizon.
